Kempe’s National Leadership

U.S. Map: Kempe National Outreach in FY08

Map: Kempe National Outreach in FY08

While Kempe’s primary goal is to help children and families in Denver and Colorado, its secondary goal is to help children and families throughout the U.S.  We do this in multiple ways.

  • Kempe brings its nationally recognized programs to other states through its publications in national journals, keynote speeches, seminars, curricula, consultations, and visitors to Kempe.
  • Kempe trained 4,789 professionals from multiple fields in 19 states last year to ensure they are using the latest approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of child abuse and neglect.
  • Our policy research program impacts state governments nationally and our advocacy program is recognized in the Colorado State Legislature as a major voice on child abuse issues.
  • Kempe’s experts have served recently on federal advisory and other boards at the National Institutes of Health, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Administration for Children and Families, and the Department of Justice.
