General Assembly Names April as Child Abuse Prevention Month
DENVER—Today, the House of Representatives designated April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
House Joint Resolution 1209 received passed on a voice vote in the House with enthusiastic support.
“It is critical that we raise awareness about preventing child abuse to help protect our most precious natural resource—our children,” said resolution sponsor, State Rep. Nikkel, R-Loveland.
The measure was cosponsored in the House by Rep. Beth McCann, D-Denver, and in the Senate by Sens. Jean White, R-Hayden, and Linda Newell, D-Littleton.
