National Adolescent Perpetration Network

The NAPN is a cooperative network of multidisciplinary professionals working with sexually abusive youth in the US and abroad.  Founded by Gail Ryan in 1983, the primary goal is to facilitate services for adolescents who are at risk of becoming the next generation of sexual offenders.  Membership has grown to more than 1,000 members and represents over 800 adolescent and 300 preadolescent treatment programs. 

The Network is a diverse group of professionals and paraprofessionals from many disciplines and a spectrum of systems that work together to help prevent future perpetration.

The Network has:

• Facilitated the National Task Force that published consensus reports in 1988 and 1993, providing guidance to practitioners and policy makers
• Provided information and referrals
• Hosted a national conference annually
• Collected and disseminated multi-site data
• Encouraged the development of State and Regional Networks

The Network is supported by both The Kempe Center and Foundation, and Department of Pediatrics at the University of School of Medicine.
